As an experienced business coach for entrepreneurs, I've had the privilege of working with vele successful men (and women) like you.
Men who have built beautiful businesses, led many people and overcome great difficulties and obstacles.
But in this pursuit of success, unfortunately, many essential aspects of life are often snowed under. You may recognize that.
Neglecting your friendships, your family and your own health are three examples you can think of.
In the world of business, where performance and results are often the benchmark, it can be easy to lose yourself in the pursuit of success.
I know all about that myself.
Peace and distance
As an experienced business coach for entrepreneurs, and an expert by experience, I invite you to take a moment of rest and distance and reflect on the four concepts below.
These things may be new to you, but they can be the key to a deeper layer of personal happiness and sustainable success.
Because today I'm going to talk about four concepts that may be new to you, especially if, like most entrepreneurs, you grew up with the idea of conditional love and conditional appreciation.
At one time, these concepts were also weak and floaty to me. Something for losers and failures.
The opposite turned out to be true.
Because it is precisely as a winner that you benefit most from self-care, self-compassion, self-love and self-esteem.
Because this way you can keep winning as an entrepreneur, but in a relaxed way.
Here we go:
-
Self-care
Self-care is more than a buzzword; it is an absolute necessity. It's not just about taking enough vacations or a spa day. It's about taking care of your physical, emotional and mental well-being on a daily basis. It's the fuel that keeps your engine running. Without self-care, you risk burnout and exhaustion. Whether it's a healthy meal, a walk, or spending time with your family or friends, self-care allows you to perform at your best.
-
Self-compassion
As an entrepreneur, you fail from time to time. Because without risk, no return. But how do you deal with it? Self-compassion is the ability to treat yourself with kindness and understanding, even when things don't go as planned or as expected. Tell me about it! It is the recognition that failure is not a personal flaw, but a universal human experience.
-
Self-love
Self-love goes beyond loving yourself; it is a deep appreciation for who you are, regardless of your accomplishments. If you grew up with conditional love, this concept may feel very strange and even super weak. But it is the only real basis for a healthy relationship with yourself and others.
-
Self-esteem
Self-esteem is the final piece.
Self-esteem is respecting your own worth and having confidence in your abilities, independent of external validation.
It is the inner conviction that you are valuable, not because of what you have accomplished, but because of who you are.
What matters most, however, is that you do things daily that concretely show that you value yourself and your accomplishments.
Otherwise, self-esteem remains abstract and impractical drivel.
Self-esteem is about concretely learning to enjoy your life and accomplishments better and concretely managing your stress better.
Instead of just rushing from one goal to another without ever celebrating your successes or taking a rest. Letting go of the need to prove yourself. Cease the search for external recognition.
Learning to appreciate yourself.
By acknowledging yourself for your accomplishments and by calming yourself down in the face of setbacks.
Take a cue from Louis van Gaal and pat yourself on the back at least three times a day.
Valuation without invoice
The four concepts of self-care, self-compassion, self-love and self-esteem are not isolated; they are interconnected and together form a powerful framework for personal and business growth.
They help you see beyond conditional love and beyond conditional appreciation.
Instead, invest in the unconditional self-esteem that, if you are completely honest, you may have never experienced your entire life.
It's about learning to appreciate yourself for who you are, not just what you do.
And to give that appreciation in concrete forms to yourself. In any form.
Self-esteem, in other words.
More important than EBITDA
For the successful male entrepreneur, the idea of self-care, self-compassion, self-love and self-esteem may seem strange or even weak.
But I assure you, these notions are far from weak.
Self-care, self-compassion, self-love and self-esteem are the essential building blocks of a resilient, fulfilled and balanced life.
Success is easy.
Self-esteem is difficult.
The Good Life is the goal
Success as an entrepreneur is not just about profits and losses.
Success without happiness is failure.
EBITDA is super important. Let's make that clear.
Because without EBITDA, no future for your business. Point.
However, it should be about your happiness and not just the happiness of your staff and your customers.
The goal is the good life. EBITDA is the means.
A good entrepreneur invests permanently. So invest permanently in yourself as well.
By investing in self-care, self-compassion, self-love and self-esteem, you too open the door to a richer, deeper and more authentic sense of success.
In other words, invest in a pleasant and happy life.
The Good Life, in other words.
Your Good Life.
So I invite you to explore and integrate self-care, self-compassion, self-love and self-esteem into your life.
They are the ultimate key to a whole new level of business success and personal fulfillment.
Success that goes far, far beyond EBITDA and also beyond your quest for recognition from others that has been engine of your ambition so far.
Because combining great successes with inner peace and satisfaction is the highest thing you can achieve as a person and as an entrepreneur.
Or do you see it very differently?different?
